How business has become
a reliable back for the defenders of Ukraine

One of the amazing properties of Ukrainians is to unite in the face of threat. February 24 changed the life of absolutely every citizen of the country - from a businessman to a farmer, and it immediately became clear that only by uniting, we can hope for victory. While the military began to defend the land with weapons in their hands, business, public organizations and volunteers deployed support for the defenders of Ukraine and the population in the back.

Liga.net starts a cycle of business stories that not only continues to work and support the economy, but also uses its capabilities to accelerate victory and help Ukrainians.

Ukrainian doctors are heroes. Having worked hard and selflessly through the difficult "covid" years, they faced a new, even more terrible challenge - a full-scale war. But besides dedication, high-quality medical equipment is also required here. Charitable funds, in particular, the Charitable Fund “Healthy Future”, help with this.

Until February 24, the Healthy Future Fund raised funds mainly from Ukrainian businesses. After February 24, it started contacting international companies and European manufacturers of medical equipment.

During a full-scale war with Russia, the fund works with a vengeance. Ukrainian medical institutions currently have many needs. The equipment is needed both in hospitals located closer to the front line, and in relatively calm areas that provide medical care to the local population and migrants.

How "Healthy Future" helps the "medical front" get closer to victory - in a partnership project with Liga.net.

KHARKIV REGION AND KYIV REGION: RESUSCITATION EQUIPMENT

"Ekstrenka" - this is how the doctors of the "Center for Emergency Medical Assistance and Disaster Medicine" in Kharkiv affectionately call their institution. The Kharkiv "Ekstrenka", as well as another Kyiv clinic, became the medical institutions that the "Healthy Future" fund began to help immediately after the start of the full-scale Russian offensive.

Already on February 24, both hospitals were on the medical front line. In particular, "Ekstrenka" rescued those who suffered from shelling in the Kharkiv region, and those who were wounded during the defense of Ukrainian borders.

The desire of doctors to save everyone rested on the lack of resuscitation equipment. Therefore, the Healthy Future Foundation literally within a week organized the purchase and delivery of the necessary medical equipment - already in the first days of March it saved people. Resuscitation equipment was handed over: defibrillators and electrodes for defibrillation, laryngoscopes and respiratory circuits.

KYIV: ASSISTANCE TO THE MAIN MILITARY HOSPITAL

The "Main Military Clinical Hospital" in Kyiv immediately after February 24 became a place where seriously wounded Ukrainian defenders were given a second chance at life. And they continue to do so now. But here, too, there were urgent needs for equipment. For example, in March, the hospital urgently needed eight patient monitors with a capnography module. They are vital to monitor the condition of seriously injured patients in intensive care units.

Friends of the Fund joined the call to raise funds for the monitors: co-founders of Ukrainian Fashion Week Iryna Danylevska and Volodymyr Nechyporuk and entrepreneur Maria Kotvytska. They helped purchase the first two monitors. Ordinary Ukrainians donated small amounts for the next six. In total, through the efforts of caring Ukrainians, 348 thousand hryvnias were collected for six monitors. The supplier delivered the equipment in advance, and received the funds after the completion of the collection.

MYKOLAIV: EQUIPMENT FOR HEROIC MEDICS

Mykolaiv became another "hot spot" of a full-scale war. Despite the constant shelling, endless air raids and enemy attempts to attack the region, the Mykolaiv doctors are fighting for the life of every patient: both civilians and the military, who get into the Mykolaiv hospital directly from the front line.

The courage of the doctors of Mykolaiv was noted even by the President - on March 25, he awarded orders and awarded honorary titles to seven doctors of the Mykolaiv region. However, one strong will of specialists is not enough, without the best equipment even the best specialists are powerless.

Therefore, in May, the Fund handed over medical and laboratory equipment to the "City Emergency Hospital": a ventilator, a multi-parameter patient monitor, a laboratory mixer and other devices.

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE HOTTEST SPOTS

In June, soldiers of the 57th Motorized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine named after Kostya Gordienko (part of the "South" OC) fought fierce battles in the Luhansk direction. At the same time, the doctors of the medical company of the 57th Motorized Brigade continued their daily battle for the lives of our defenders. To do this more efficiently, they needed equipment.

Therefore, at the beginning of June, the Fund handed over the most necessary: a rack holder for work in a medical laboratory, multi-parameter patient monitors and rotary laboratory mixers. All transferred equipment worked continuously to save the lives of our defenders.

But this is not the only aid directed to the front line. The well-known Italian manufacturer of resuscitation equipment AMI Italia donated to the Fund three Saver One defibrillators that ended up in the three hottest spots in Donbass. The devices were transported under shelling - to where heavy battles take place every day.

One of the defibrillators was delivered to the defenders of Lysychansk, the second - to the doctors of the 1st operational brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine; the third traveled the longest - from Kyiv to Bakhmut. With its help, volunteer doctors of the First Volunteer Mobile Hospital named after M. Pyrogov save lives now. These are the people who not only save the lives of defenders and civilians, but also ensure the evacuation of the wounded from the "red zone" - the areas of shelling and hostilities.
