The state institution "Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" has received equipment for the new Department of "Severe Polystructural Trauma".

For more than 100 years, the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine has not only kept its history, but also provides highly specialized orthopedic and traumatological care to patients with various types of injuries.

Already since February 24, the load on the doctors of the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine has increased significantly, because the Institute receives a large number of victims with severe injuries of the musculoskeletal system and their consequences. Such patients require multistage surgical treatment. Since the beginning of the war, 850 defenders of native Ukraine and more than 3,000 injured civilians have already been operated on the basis of the Institute.

In order to be able to provide highly specialized and professional care to a larger number of seriously wounded and injured during the war, the Institute opened a new Department of "Severe Polystructural Trauma" on August 1, 2022. To equip the new department, the "Healthy Future" Fund donated modern medical equipment in the form of humanitarian aid:

• Electrocardiography unit EPG JUNIOR manufactured by Progetti, Italy – 1 pc.
• Multi-parameter patient monitor Brightfield Healthcare V12i – 1 pc.
• Multi-parameter patient monitor Brightfield Healthcare V15e – 1 pc.
